Integrity Over Inventory: Our Makeup Loss Story
When we first launched Loyalty Beyond Beauty we planned to introduce a line of makeup products. We invested thousands of dollars into inventory and the lab samples were beautiful, but when the full production run arrived it didn’t meet the standard we would put on our own skin.
We had a choice: sell that inventory anyway and hope no one noticed, or take the loss and protect the name we were building. We chose to protect the name. We boxed up hundreds of units of foundation, lip colour and eyeshadow and never sold a single one. We ate the cost because we refused to put our label on a product we didn’t believe in.
That decision cost us real money, but it revealed something important: Loyalty Beyond Beauty can never be built on products we don’t trust on ourselves and our daughters. Those unsold boxes became a symbol of our values. They still sit in storage to remind us why we do this.
In the wake of that loss we asked what our skin really needed. The answer wasn’t more pigments and powders—it was care. We pivoted into healing‑first skincare built around barrier repair, concentrated botanicals and formulations gentle enough for eczema and psoriasis‑prone skin. It’s why every formula we release now — from Barrier Repair Balm to our Golden Root Healing Balm — is something we would proudly use on ourselves and our children.
Thank you for being part of a brand that believes integrity comes before profit. We hope this story gives you confidence that when you see the Loyalty Beyond Beauty name on a jar, it represents our highest standard.
